It’s been more than three months since a young woman was killed in the driveway of her Birmingham, and police are asking for the public’s help in delivering justice for her grieving loved ones.

Mia Nickson, 21, was killed about 1:45 a.m. Jan. 10, 2024.

Birmingham’s East Precinct officers were dispatched that Wednesday to a report of a person shot in the 800 block of Crest Green Turn.

They found Nickson unresponsive outside the family’s home. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced her dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates Nickson was outside of her home when the fatal shooting took place. The shooter or shooters then fled the scene.

There were other people inside the residence at the time, but they were uninjured.

No arrests have been made.
