Bo Nix started his first three collegiate seasons with the Auburn Tigers, but transferred to the Oregon Ducks for his final two years. Nix posted decent statistics as the starting quarterback for the Tigers, but his numbers took a tremendous leap after playing with the Ducks in 2022 and 2023.
During his final collegiate season, Nix became a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, throwing for 45 touchdowns and only three interceptions this past season at Oregon. Despite his older age compared to most other prospects in the 2024 NFL draft, the Broncos trusted him enough to take him in the top half of the first round. Nix was the sixth quarterback to be selected in the first 12 picks, leaving very few choices at the position for later rounds.
During each of Nix’s two seasons with the Ducks, he posted a completion percentage greater than 70%. Last season, his completion percentage reached 77.4%. That incredible statistic was enough to tie the NCAA record for highest completion percentage in a season, equaling that of former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones who posted the same figures during the 2020 season.
