Joe Buck, Scott Van Pelt address rumors of feud after MNF broadcast of Cowboys-Buccaneers
Troy Aikman joked about it. Scott Van Pelt said it is “incredible to me how dumb people are.” Joe Buck just laughed.
The rumored feud between Buck and Van Pelt was anything but, and the two laughed about the whole thing following ESPN’s coverage of the Dallas Cowboys’ win over Tampa Bay on Monday night.
It was reported three weeks ago that the two had a bit of an awkward interaction after Buck appeared to grow “increasingly irritated” with Van Pelt after the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 20-3 in late December. Van Pelt asked Buck one question, something that was not missed by the legendary broadcaster.
“I am glad you two are actually talking again,” Aikman quipped as both men laughed.”
Buck put the rumors to rest before calling it a night on Monday.
“First of all, a couple of weeks ago, we had our thing,” he said. We’re always playing around. You’re the only one I knew at ESPN before I came here. So, let’s just put that to bed.”
Van Pelt was quick to point out how ridiculous the whole thing is.
“My favorite thing this year is that people on the Internet truly thought a broadcaster as legendary as Joe Buck is pissed off for one question after a lousy football game,” he explained. “Incredible to me how dumb people are.”
