Ex-Arizona State QB Jaden Rashada commits to SEC school

Jaden Rashada, the former Arizona State quarterback whose reported NIL deal with Florida made headlines, has landed back in the SEC.

Rashada, a 4-star recruit in the 2023 class, has committed to Georgia. He made the announcement Thursday via an Instagram post.

Originally from California, Rashada committed to Miami during the summer prior to his senior year of high school before flipping to Florida in November 2022. It was reported at the time that Rashada had agreed to a 13.85 million NIL deal with the Gator Collective.

The NIL reportedly fell through, however, and Rashada was released from his Letter of Intent with the Gators (the NCAA also began to investigate the situation). He landed at Arizona State, where he completed 44 of 82 passes for 485 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions in three games as a true freshman while dealing with a knee injury (because he played in only three games, he was able to take a redshirt year and has four seasons of eligibility remaining).

Rashada sat out the spring while recovering from offseason thumb surgery, and entered the transfer portal earlier this month. He joins a Georgia program that already has three former 4-star recruits at quarterback: senior returning starter Carson Beck, redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton and true freshman Ryan Puglisi.
