Authorities ID man ejected, killed in rollover crash on I-65 in Hoover

A man killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Hoover has now been identified.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Christopher Michael Pearson. He was 39 and lived in Morris.

The wreck happened at 1:12 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-65, about one-quarter of a mile south of the Old Rocky Ridge Road bridge.

Capt. Keith Czeskleba said the driver of the Jeep Wrangler lost control and overturned. Pearson was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene at 1:37 a.m.

Hoover police traffic officers are investigating.
