Is more cold in the forecast for Alabama?

A lot of Alabamians needed a jacket to get out the door on Monday morning. Will it be as cold on Tuesday morning?

The National Weather Service is forecasting another cold night tonight, but most places will probably end up being a few degrees “warmer,” according to the latest forecasts. But you’ll still need that jacket.

Today will be on the cool-ish side as well, at least for April. Highs today will only make it into the 60s in north and north-central Alabama. South Alabama will make it into the 70s, but not by much.

But tonight the mercury is expected to drop a good bit again, into the upper 30s and low 40s in north Alabama, the low to mid-40s in central Alabama and the mid- to upper 40s in south Alabama (see tonight’s forecast lows at the top of this post).

The National Weather Service is expecting temperatures to rise through this week. By Sunday the forecast has all of Alabama into the 80s for highs again:

What about farther in the future? The 6 to 10-day temperature outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a very high probability for above-average temperatures for all of Alabama from Saturday through the first of May:
