Limited-edition – and unusual – Hershey’s candy bar is returning for the summer

Hershey’s is bringing back a limited-edition candy bar in celebration of the summer.

The popping candy bar is headed back to shelves soon, according to AllRecipes. The limited edition Hershey’s with Popping Candy tastes like a brick of hardened frosting with Pop Rocks mixed in.

What does Hershey’s Popping Candy bar taste like?

Last year, Nick O’Malley of Masslive.com reviewed the candy bar. Here’s what he had to say:

The “white creme” has a thin white chocolate-adjacent flavor that’s vaguely milky and buttery. It’s reminiscent of the Hershey’s Cookies and Creme bar. But instead of having the “cookie” element acting as a contrast to the creme, this candy is just blank sweetness piled on top of more blank sweetness. The only thing that really breaks it up is the sensation of the popping candy, which has its own issues.

The verdict: This candy doesn’t necessarily taste bad. It’s rather enjoyable. The problem is that, while eating it, you get this unnaturally heavy, languid feeling. It just feels too much like eating a tub of cake frosting to the face.
