Huntsville Hospital closing Wellness Center at Medical Mall this summer

Huntsville Hospital today announced it will close the Wellness Center at the Medical Mall on July 1.

The Wellness Center space will be repurposed for clinical use, according to an announcement from the hospital. The Medical Mall has served as the hub for Huntsville Hospital’s outpatient services for more than two decades.

Programs located in the mall include laboratory, imaging, therapy, pharmacy, the hospital’s Center for Lung Health, pre-registration and physician offices.

Two other Wellness Centers, in Jones Valley and Madison, will remain open.

“Our community is growing rapidly and we have to make decisions that help us fulfill our core mission which is to address the need for more patient services,” Hospital President Tracy Doughty said.

Although the exercise and fitness program will cease operations at the Medical Mall location, Doughty said existing programs for patients with Parkinson’s disease, as well as the nutritional and weight loss programs, would continue at the facility.
