Ravens’ Derrick Henry jumps on free-crabcakes offer

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood offered former Alabama All-American Derrick Henry free crabcakes and crabcake egg rolls for life if he would sign with the Baltimore Ravens in NFL free agency. That’s just what Henry did, too: Joining the Ravens in March after eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

Although Henry signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Ravens, he was quick to take up the restaurant on its offer, as he had said he would be.

After the first day of Baltimore’s offseason program on Monday, Henry was at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood. The restaurant posted a photo of the running back with co-owner Tony Minadakis on its social-media outlets.

Henry already has a menu item named for him at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood. The King Henroll is a sushi roll featuring snow crab, lump crab and sweet ‘n’ spicy crab.

Henry signed with the Ravens shortly after becoming an unrestricted free agent on March 13.

A Pro Bowler in four of the past five seasons and the first-team All-Pro running back in 2020, Henry has run for 9,502 yards and 90 touchdowns on 2,039 in his NFL career. He led the league in rushing in 2019 and 2020, when he became the eighth player to reach 2,000 rushing yards in a season, and he’s been the runner-up for the rushing crown in each of the past two campaigns.
