The Summer Olympics is only months away.
The Summer Olympic Games are typically held every four years, but the timing is slightly different this time around due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed to 2021, but that did not push the four-year rotation back a year. So, the upcoming Summer Olympics are still occurring in 2024 and will be held in Paris.

- USA Men’s Basketball is scheduled to play an exhibition match against Canada on July 10 at 9:30 p.m. CT on FS1. Although the official Olympic roster is not selected yet for the USA Men’s Basketball team, the coaching staff features some great NBA coaches: Steve Kerr, Tyronn Lue, and Erik Spoelstra. USA Men’s Basketball has won 4 straight gold medals, dating back to 2008 Beijing.
- USA Women’s Basketball is scheduled to play against Germany on July 23 in London, and the game will be televised on FS1 at 2 p.m. CT. The women’s national team currently features a multitude of WNBA stars, including Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd, and A’ja Wilson. The women’s national team has also won seven consecutive gold medals at the Olympics, dating back to 1996 Atlanta.
- USA Men’s 3×3 Basketball is making their Olympic debut at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The team has been led in points by Jimmer Fredette, who has played in the NBA and in professional leagues overseas.
- USA Women’s 3×3 Basketball has a star-studded roster of WNBA talent, including Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, and Allisha Gray. The women’s team won the gold medal in 3×3 basketball’s inaugural year at the Olympics, and they are looking to win another gold medal this year.
- USA Gymnastics has had a lot of talent over the years, including Auburn University gymnast Sunisa Lee and Simone Biles. The gymnastics national team will have their Olympic Trials during the final four days of June. Fans can watch the action on USA Network, NBC, and Peacock. - USA Swimming will have their Olympic Trials from June 15 to June 23, and they will be hosted in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.
- USA Men’s Soccer most recent matches at the Olympic Games occurred during 2008 Beijing. However, the men’s national team has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games and look to obtain their first medal since 1904.

- USA Men’s Beach Volleyball has not been able to place on the podium since winning the gold medal at 2008 Beijing.
- USA Women’s Beach Volleyball has been successful over the years, as they have at least acquired a bronze medal at the Summer Olympics since 2004 Athens. The team’s most recent success was winning the gold medal at the last Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
- USA Men’s Volleyball has had decent Olympic showings over the years, including a gold medal at 2008 Beijing and a bronze medal at 2016 Rio. The team finished in 10th at the last Summer Olympic Games, so they will look to return to previous form this year.
- USA Women’s Volleyball has never finished worse than eighth place at the Summer Olympics. Additionally, they are coming off a gold medal performance at the most recent Summer Olympic Games.
- USA Men’s Tennis has not placed on the podium in singles since 2004 Athens, where Mardy Fish acquired a silver medal. However, the men’s national tennis team has numerous competitors to pick from, with five U.S. players ranked within the top 26 in the ATP Rankings.
- USA Women’s Tennis has been in a lull for the Olympics since Serena Williams and Venus Williams retired, as they were the last two players to place on the podium for women’s singles. - USA Mixed Doubles has a great chance to place well at the 2024 Summer Olympics with the immense talent pool in both men’s and women’s tennis. The U.S. reached the podium in 2016 Rio, as they won the gold and silver medals. Despite failing to place at Tokyo 2020, the U.S. tennis team looks to bounce back in Paris.
