Tuscaloosa County High School teacher charged with sex with student

A Tuscaloosa County High School teacher was taken into custody Monday, accused of being sexually involved with a student.

Lorenza Freeman Jr., 25, is charged with one count of school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said the victim is a minor student. No additional information is being released about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime.

Freeman was undergoing booking Monday afternoon. His bond is set at $30,000.

The school’s website does not list any information on Freeman’s employment.
