For those who are not yet up to date, The Tortured Poets Department is expected to be different from Swift’s last few albums because of one important factor, she recently went through a breakup with her partner of seven years, Joe Alwyn, and if there is anything we know “All Too Well” Taylor’s pain is her fan’s gain.

So, while Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights were all great albums, there is nothing like a post-breakup Taylor Swift album.

It is also important to note that while most of Swift’s relationships have been relatively public, her partnership with Alwyn was much more private. However, Swift is a brutally honest song writer, which means her fans are hoping to get a better idea of what their relationship was actually like over those seven years though the songs on The Tortured Poets Department album. Because, while Swifties were under the impression that their romantic relationship was mostly perfect, we’ve recently learned that this is not quite the case.
