Warmest week of 2024 coming up for Alabama
The warmest temperatures of 2024 are in the forecast for Alabama this week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting highs statewide to climb into the 80s throughout the workweek.
Much of the week will be dry, but there is a chance for rain and a few strong storms for the northern part of Alabama on Wednesday.
Here is the Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather outlook for Wednesday, which shows a Level 1 out of 5 (or marginal) risk for the northern part of Alabama, including Huntsville, Decatur, Florence and Muscle Shoals:
A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
The National Weather Service is forecasting highs to climb into the 80s nearly statewide today (today’s forecast is at the top of this post). The only area forecast to stay below 80 degrees today, oddly enough, is Mobile, where the forecast high is “only” 79 degrees.
Highs on Tuesday are forecast to be in the 80s again:
Wednesday is forecast to be a bit “cooler,” with highs only reaching the upper 70s in parts of Alabama that could get more clouds and rain:
Thursday could be one of the warmest of the week, with high temperatures forecast to reach the mid-80s again in parts of the state:
Friday could have spots in south Alabama very close to hitting 90 degrees:
More rain could enter the forecast later on Friday and into the weekend, and temperatures could be a bit cooler — but only into the 70s — for the weekend.
