Mobile priest arrested on sexual misconduct, harassment charges

A Mobile priest has turned himself in on charges of sexual misconduct and harassment, according to the Mobile Metro Jail log.

Rev. David Joseph Tokarz was taken into custody after turning himself in late Saturday morning, according to jail records, and released on $1,500 bond just before 2:30 p.m.

Tokarz, 73, is the pastor at Our Savior Church in Mobile, according to the Archdiocese of Mobile.

The Archdiocese provided a statement to WALA, saying the charges were levied by an adult female.

“The Archdiocese of Mobile is aware that misdemeanor charges have been brought against Fr. David Tokarz, Pastor of Our Savior Church in Mobile, by an adult woman. Since this is an active legal matter, questions about the charges should be referred to Fr. Tokarz’s attorney. We ask for your prayers for all affected by this situation.”
