Amazon sets company record high
The gains, albeit moderate ones, dominated our Mobile and Alabama Stock Report on Thursday. Leading that charge was Amazon.
The online retail behemoth was up 1.7%, or $3.10, to set a record at $189.05 a share, topping its prior high set in 2021. Amazon has several operations sites with thousands of employees across Alabama, including Bessemer, Huntsville, Madison, Mobile, Montgomery and Theodore.
Overall, jumps for Big Tech stocks helped U.S. indexes claw back much of their slide from the day before, when worries that interest rates may stay high for a while rocked Wall Street.
