Italian fine dining restaurant opening this month in Tuscaloosa
Tuscaloosa will welcome a new Italian eatery this month.
Sugo Italian Restaurant is set to open the end of April at 2218 University Blvd., Unit A.
Sugo will feature Italian dishes ranging from pasta and steaks to bronzini fish, alongside homemade pasta sauces and Italian-inspired cocktails. There will also be a comprehensive wine list featuring selections from various regions of Italy, as well as a curated domestic assortment.
Sugo will be open Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Owner Christian Williams said his ambition is for the restaurant to become “an essential part of Tuscaloosa’s food landscape,” like other popular destinations such as Southern Ale House, Avenue Pub, and Urban Bar and Kitchen.
“Our aspiration is for Sugo to be welcomed and cherished by the community, just as these other venues have been,” Williams said. “Having collaborated closely with the owners of these local favorites for over two decades, I share a closeness with them. Together, we are united in our commitment to delivering exceptional tastes and service to our town.”
