Mobile man sentenced to life for 2021 murder outside Stadium Sports Bar

A 29-year-old Mobile man will spend the rest of his life in prison for a 2021 murder outside a sports bar.

LeCarey Dionte Lett pleaded guilty Tuesday to the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Kelon Foster, according to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

On the night of Sept. 11, 2021, just after 10 p.m., Lett waited to ambush Foster outside Stadium Sports Bar. When Foster emerged from the bar and began walking to his car, Lett got out of his car, produced a handgun and shot Foster multiple times.

“LeCarey Lett held himself accountable and admitted to the crime he committed today,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “All loss of life is tragic, but we hope this chapter closing today brings peace to Kelon Foster’s family.”
