Live updates: DeBoer addresses media following 2nd Alabama spring scrimmage

Alabama football completed its second scrimmage of the Kalen DeBoer era on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide ran approximately 85 plays in its first scrimmage, according to UA. DeBoer said he has had better initial outings with teams he’s taken over in the past, but Alabama still adequately competed. DeBoer wanted penalties reduced, however. What did the practice bring with the A-Day spring game one week away?

Follow along for live updates once DeBoer reaches the podium.

–”Alright, gonna make this quick. We got a big game we got to get ready for tonight. While I’m at it, good luck to the basketball team.”

–DeBoer said UA needed better pass protection and run defense from his team after last week. They delivered.

“Things balanced out more where you didn’t see these overriding strengths on either side.”

–UA had four practices this week, the most in a single week this spring.

–Alabama ran around 90 plays.

–Alabama OL Jaeden Roberts, expected to be the team’s starting right guard, was dinged up in practice today. When asked by a reporter, DeBoer laughed.

“How’d we know about Jaeden?”

DeBoer said it “feels like nothing major” in regard to Roberts and he’ll be reevaluated in the coming days.

–Alabama center Parker Brailsford isn’t punished by the team but going through “non-football related things.” It was previously reported that Brailsford didn’t participate in UA’s first scrimmage.

“He’s gonna be with us. … He’s working hard and he’s going to be ready to go here sooner rather than later.

“It’s not a transfer thing.”
