Dauphin Island ‘Big Morning’ birding event to showcase coastal avian diversity

Dauphin Island is a birder’s oasis. There are 433 species recognized in the state by the Alabama Ornithological Society, and over 260 of them have been sighted on the barrier island.

The Alabama Audubon Society is giving bird enthusiasts the opportunity to encounter many of these coastal birds with their upcoming “Big Morning” event April 18. It’s designed for novice and expert birders alike, making it an accessible event for all.
