A man was discovered dead inside a submerged vehicle in a Walker County, and authorities said they suspect foul play.

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office received a call early Wednesday afternoon about a suspicious vehicle off Homestead Road in the Dogtown area.

The vehicle, authorities said, was partially submerged in a pond. The victim was dead inside.

Detectives determined foul play was likely involved in the death.

Further investigation showed the death happened in Winston County. No additional details have been released.

The Wintson County Sheriff’s Office will now take over as the lead investigative agency.
