Tornado count from Tuesday storms climbs to 6

The tornado count from Tuesday’s round of storms now stands at six.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham on Thursday confirmed two additional tornado tracks from Tuesday (April 2), bringing central Alabama’s tornado total to four.

There were also two confirmed tornadoes in north Alabama on Tuesday, according to the weather service in Huntsville.

All six twisters were either EF-0s or EF-1s, according to the weather service.

Here is a look at what is known so far Tuesday’s tornadoes. Additional details will be released when surveys are complete:

1. Coosa County (north of Rockford): EF-0, maximum estimated winds 75 mph.

2. Coosa County (near Kellyton): EF-0, maximum estimated winds 80 mph.

3. Dallas and Chilton counties (Plantersville area): EF-1, maximum estimated winds, 95 mph

4. Chilton County (Pools Crossroads): EF-0, maximum estimated winds 85 mph.

5. Colbert County (Leighton): EF-1, maximum estimated winds 90 mph.

6. Limestone County (Panther Branch): EF-0, maximum estimated winds 85 mph.
