A boy died after the ATV he was driving collided with a vehicle Wednesday in north Alabama, police said.

Fort Payne police received a call of a traffic accident around 4:08 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of Wallace Avenue NE involving a vehicle and an ATV, said Chief David Davis.

The boy was taken to DeKalb Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, Davis said.

Police did not say whether anyone else involved in the wreck were injured.

The accident remained under investigation as of Wednesday night, although no charges are expected, Davis said.
