Mega-popular warehouse shopping club Costco continues to grow.

Late 2023, Costco CFO Richard Galanti announced the company plans to open 33 locations during fiscal 2024, up from 23 the year before, Eatthis.com reported. Of that 33, two will be relocations of existing stores and 31 will be new builds.

One of the new locations will reportedly be in Alabama.

In March, the Madison County Commission approved a deal to widen Wall Triana Highway to five lanes to accommodate a new Costco location at the Clift Farms development. No timeline for the store opening has been announced.

Costco has four locations in Alabama, including one in Huntsville on North Memorial Parkway which opened in 2000.

Costco does have several openings planned for the coming months. According to a list on its website, stores will open in:

• Loomis, California – May
• North Port, Florida – June
• Mt. Juliet, Tennessee- June
• Jiangning, China – June
• Riverbank, California – June
• Richmond, Texas – June

Galanti had previously said the company’s goal is to reach 30 new openings a year, divided equally between the U.S. and overseas.

Costco currently operates 871 warehouses worldwide. Costco offers Gold Star memberships for $60 a year in the U.S. or $120 for Executive Members who receive additional benefits and savings.
