A Hueytown teen has been identified as the victim in a deadly hit-and-run crash.

Gabriel Demor Edwards, 18, was found about 6 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Hueytown Road and Walker Avenue, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Hueytown police were dispatched to the location after receiving a report of a person down.

Investigators said 18-year-old was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Evidence indicates the crash happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Edwards was officially pronounced dead at 6:26 a.m.

Hueytown police are pursuing leads, but no arrests have yet been announced.
