Third person arrested in connection with 2021 shooting deaths of 2 teens in north Alabama

Marshall County authorities have arrested a third person in connection with a 2021 double homicide.

Nicholas Cuzzort, 20, is being held without bond in the Marshall County Jail.

He was arrested March 21 on charges of murder and first degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

WAAY is reporting that Cuzzort is being charged in connection with the Sept. 23, 2021 shooting deaths of two teens at a Guntersville Taco Bell. The arrest came after a grand jury indictment.

A 17-year-old juvenile and Elias Gaspar Escobar Lopez, 19, of Boaz, were shot to death in the parking lot of the restaurant.

Kevon Yenovi Williams, 23, of Grayson, Ga., was arrested following the shooting. The following March, Morgan Young, 24, of Guntersville, was also charged in connection with the crime.

Williams’ capital murder trial is scheduled to begin in August.
