New Madison brunch spot opening today, Huntsville location later this year

A Florida-based brunch chain is opening its first Alabama location today in Madison, with another on the way for Huntsville later this year.

First Watch is located at 8156 U.S. 72 West in a 3,950-square-foot space, seating more than 200 people, with outdoor dining available under the covered patio.

By the end of 2024, First Watch anticipates opening the doors at 5000 Whitesburg Drive in Huntsville.

“This year, we couldn’t be more energized to double down on brunch in Madison County with two new locations in and around Huntsville,” Brandon Heinsohn, vice president of operations, said. “With a beautiful interior, cozy patio and menu committed to freshness, our debut Madison restaurant aims to impress and inspire even more good mornings across the community, and we’re just getting started.”

First Watch offers traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings, such as avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes, kale tonic juice and million dollar bacon.

Customers who dine in through Friday will receive a free cup of the restaurant’s Project Sunrise coffee, sourced by women coffee farmers based in South America.

The restaurant features a revolving seasonal menu five times a year, with specialties like the barbacoa quesadilla benedict, elote Mexican street corn hash and watermelon wake-up fresh juice. The Madison restaurant will offer its first seasonal menu this summer.

First Watch is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for pickup, delivery and dine-in service.

The company operates more than 520 restaurants in 29 states.
