Wind advisory affecting East Central Alabama until Tuesday morning

A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 3:12 a.m. valid from 7 p.m. until Tuesday 10 a.m. for Chambers, Macon and Lee counties.

The weather service says, “Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Trees could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
