Alabama State Troopers say two teenagers were killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Jackson County.

Troopers say a 17-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger were killed when the 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 they were in left the roadway and struck a tree. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say neither teen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The 19-year-old passenger was identified as Andrew S. Turner of Dutton. The 17-year-old driver was not identified but was also from Dutton.

The crash occurred on Alabama 40 approximately one mile south of Scottsboro.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
