Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood said one person was killed last night after a collision between an ambulance and a motorcycle.

Norwood told AL.com the ambulance was transporting a patient from Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield to Birmingham when it collided with a motorcycle. The motorcyclist – a 33-year-old male – was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

Norwood said another ambulance was called to continue the transport of the patient to Birmingham.
