Wind advisory affecting Central Alabama Monday and Tuesday

A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 4:36 a.m. valid from Monday 7 p.m. until Tuesday 7 a.m. for Shelby, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa and Dallas counties.

The weather service states, “Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Trees could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” adds the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
