3-star OL Tai Buster commits to Auburn, joins Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class

It wasn’t long ago that 3-star offensive lineman Tai Buster was at Auburn after having visited The Plains for an unofficial visit on March 16.

And with him announcing his commitment to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers, it’s clear Buster is ready to spend a lot more time on The Plains.

Buster, who measures 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, announced his commitment in a post to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Friday afternoon.

Auburn offered the 3-star offensive lineman out of North Carolina on Jan. 20, giving Buster his ninth Division I offer but his first from an SEC program. Since then Kentucky and Florida have joined Auburn in offering Buster, as did Duke, Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.

But when all was said and done, it was Auburn offensive lineman coach Jake Thornton, who served as his primary recruiter for the Tigers, who won Buster over.

With Buster’s commitment, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class grows to nine commitments, including three offensive linemen — Buster, 4-star Tavaris Dice and 3-star Spencer Dowland.
