Sonic’s has new black drink for April 8 total solar eclipse and you get free eclipse glasses, too
Skygazers who plan to watch the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8 can pair the experience with a drink from Sonic.
The drive-through chain is launching a limited-edition drink called “Blackout Slush Float” to give fans an “out-of-this world experience.”
The all-black slushie represents the temporary darkness from the solar eclipse, and will be topped with white soft serve and blue and purple galaxy-themed sprinkles.
The new drink will be available nationwide at participating locations from March 25 to May 5, reports USA TODAY. Another plus: Sonic will also be handing out free solar eclipse viewing glasses with every purchase of the new treat, while supplies last, to ensure their customers “safely watch the eclipse and create fun memories.”
