Blue Bell’s latest cake ice cream flavor offers a taste of St. Louis

Blue Bell is expanding into the St. Louis market and is bringing a new flavor tailored for the region’s ice cream aficionados.

Gooey butter cake ice cream is in stores beginning today.

It is described as a cake batter ice cream, combined with a cream cheese swirl and gooey butter cake pieces.

It’s available in half gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.

“Our new Gooey Butter Cake Ice Cream is as delicious as the cake made famous in St. Louis,” Carl Breed, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said.

“Our ice cream is a great introduction if you have not tasted a gooey butter cake. There are delicious pieces of cake in each bite. And our Cake Batter Ice Cream combined with a cream cheese swirl is, as they say, the icing on the cake.”

Texas-based Blue Bell maintains an ice cream factory in Sylacauga.

Until now, you might have thought of Jeni’s when you heard gooey butter cake ice cream.

In January, Blue Bell released Cinnamon Twist Ice Cream.
