Cortney Coleman is determined to offer a pathway for young people to thrive.

Coleman, 46, grew up in public housing in Birmingham’s Ensley neighborhood and now serves as the executive director of the Bessemer Housing Authority, which provides assistance to low-income residents in seven communities across the city.
