Driver suffers minor injuries despite large tree falling on car near church
Authorities and an Alabama church said a miracle occurred Friday morning when a driver escaped with only minor injuries after a large tree fell on their car and trapped them in the vehicle.
The Piedmont Rescue Squad received a call Friday morning of a tree falling on an occupied vehicle on Youngs Chapel Road, not far from the Young’s Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, the agency said on its Facebook page.
“The team work, and experience from everyone was phenomenal,” the rescue squad said. Community people helping their community. The victim was extricated from this wreckage with minor injuries. Miracles happen every day.”
The church shared a photo taken by its pastor, Bruce Perkins, of the tree crushing the silver Toyota.
“God is still in the miracle business!!!” the church posted on its Facebook page. “The person that was in this car when it was crushed by the tree survived. God is everywhere but today we have proof that He was here in our own town.”
