Auburn All-Pros: Daniel Carlson ends Tigers’ drought

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson became the 12th former Auburn player to be selected for The Associated Press’ All-Pro first team on Friday.

Carlson is the first Auburn alumnus to earn the NFL honor since Cam Newton was the All-Pro quarterback for the 2015 season with the Carolina Panthers.

Carlson made 34-of-37 field-goal attempts and 35-of-36 extra-points kicks during the 2022 season.

Carlson’s performance included an 11-of-13 showing on field-goal attempts of 50-or-more yards as he set an NFL single-season record for the most field goals of at least 50 yards.

One other Auburn alumnus received votes from the panel of 50 media members who selected this season’s All-Pro team – Los Angeles Chargers long snapper Josh Harris.

Carlson is the second former Auburn player to be the All-Pro kicker. Rob Bironas received that recognition in 2007 with the Tennessee Titans.
