Verizon will now let you add second number to your phone
Wireless carrier Verizon is making an account change for its customers.
Starting today, Verizon is launching Second Number, a new plan that allows customers to have a second talk and text line on one phone. The change, the company said, eliminates the need for customers to have two phones for separate numbers.
“Customers increasingly use two phone numbers to manage their busy lives. From safely selling on online marketplaces to operating side gigs, to replacing landlines or getting a special number just for family, customers want access to a second phone number—and often, get a second phone to do so,” Verizon said in a statement. “With Second Number, Verizon is offering customers a solution so that they don’t need two phones for separate numbers.”
The second unlimited number will cost you more – $10 per month, plus fees through June 5. After that, the cost goes up to $15 per month, plus fees.
Second Number is available to all new and existing non-prepaid Verizon customers with a Dual SIM service. If a customer upgrades their device, the Second Number will automatically transfer, Verizon said.
So how will it work? According to Verizon, users receiving an incoming call or text message will see which line is receiving the call or message. When replying, the same number that received the message will show as the sender.
