High school baseball in The Huntsville Times coverage area is traditionally strong and the 2024 season is shaping up to be a good one.

In the past five years – excluding the lost COVID-19 year – Madison Academy, Decatur Heritage and Russellville have won multiple state championships. Powerhouse Hartselle has nine state championships all-time, Cullman has five and Madison Academy has four.

Will a champion emerge this season? Time will tell.
