Auburn ranked No. 12 in AP top 25 before SEC Tournament
Auburn is ranked No. 12 in the final Associated Press top 25 poll before this week’s SEC Tournament, moving up one spot from last week.
Auburn went 2-0 last week — the final week of the regular season — while ranked No. 13, with wins over Missouri and Georgia. Head coach Bruce Pearl’s team finished the regular season with a 24-7 regular season record. It’s the eighth time Auburn has won 24 or more games in a season in program history.
Pearl has been the coach for five of those seasons.
Auburn has now been ranked in the top 20 for 10 consecutive weeks and in the top 15 for six straight weeks.
With a 13-5 record in the SEC, Auburn earned the No. 4 seed for the conference tournament and received a double-bye through to Friday’s quarterfinal round. Auburn will play one of No. 5 seed South Carolina, No. 12 seed Arkansas or No. 13 seed Vanderbilt around 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
The game will be aired on ESPN.
