4 masked thieves steal nearly $300,000 in vehicles stolen from Alabama car dealership

Four masked thieves made off with four vehicles valued at nearly $300,000 from a Daphne dealership Saturday, police said Monday.

Terry Thompson Chevrolet was burglarized during the early morning hours Saturday, according to police. The four suspects — seen on surveillance video wearing masks and black clothing — forced entry into the building through a window in the service department and then located the key fobs to the vehicles.

The suspects were dropped off at the dealership in a dark, four-door sedan about 2 a.m., police said.

The vehicles stolen were:

  • 2024 Chevrolet Suburban Z71, gray, valued at $75,690
  • 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LT, white, valued at $60,000
  • 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD High Country, white, valued at $77,440
  • 2022 Dodger Charger SRT Hellcat, black, a 717-horsepower sedan which originally stickered at $77,345

Daphne police located one of the trucks via its on-board GPS system traveling north on Interstate 65 near Prichard shortly after the theft, but then lost track of the vehicle. Police believe the suspects disabled the vehicles’ GPS systems.
