Sundays can be days for catching up on things, including local stories you may have missed in last week’s daily digital editions of The Birmingham News. So, to help you out, here are some of the stories our readers found most interesting.

Hoover trash pickup: Thousands of local AmWaste customers with Wednesday/Saturday garbage pickups will receive a new pickup schedule by the end of this month. Lede reporter Heather Gann had the details.

Primary victory oddity: A funny thing happened on the way to the polls Tuesday: GOP voters in the 7th District voted for Christian Horn as their candidate for the general election in the U.S. House of Representative race. The funny thing is – Horn had quit the race before the election. Nick Patterson and Heather Gann had the story.

‘Mafia-like’ towing service: A group of Birmingham lawyers recently filed a class action lawsuit against local towing company Parking Enforcement Systems (PES) accusing the company of illegal towing and over-charging. The Lede’s Heather Gann broke it down.
