Reward offered in unsolved 2022 slaying of 67-year-old man in Montgomery

A $2,500 reward is being officered for information in the 2022 shooting death of a 67-year-old man in Montgomery.

Rufus McCants was found wounded at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022, in the 1300 block of North Ripley Street. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the shooting took place at an unknown location.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting remain under investigation and no other details have been released.

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers announced the reward increase on Thursday.
