Selma man, 26, killed in Autauga County head-on collision

A Selma man was killed in a head-on crash in Autauga County.

Alabama State Troopers on Thursday identified the fatality victim as Jamarcus R. Thomas. He was 26.

The wreck happened at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on Alabama 14, about one mile east of Autaugaville.

Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said Thomas’s Honda Accord collided head on with a Cadillac CTS driven by 63-year-old Angela D. Murray of Prattville.

Thomas was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on scene. Melvin Barnes Jr., 25, was a passenger in the Accord and was taken to Baptist South Medical Center for treatment.

Murray was injured, and also taken to Baptist South.

Troopers are investigating.
