He won the most GOP votes in District 7 but he’s out of the race. Here’s what happened

A funny thing happened on the way to the polls Tuesday: GOP voters in the 7th District voted for Christian Horn as their candidate for the general election in the U.S. House of Representative race.

The funny thing is – Horn had quit the race before the election.

Horn, a retired schoolteacher, got 8,558 votes or 58.62% of the vote, a decisive blow against his main challenger, Robin Litaker, R-Moundville, who only claimed 6,041 votes or 41.38%. Voters picked Horn to go up against incumbent Democrat Terri Sewell — who easily won her primary – in the Nov. 5 election.
