A pedestrian was struck and injured in the Walmart parking lot on Montclair Road.

The crash happened shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Battalion Chief Clay Hendon said the person struck was pinned under the vehicle. Firefighters were able to free the trapped man.

Hendon said both the victim and the driver were taken to area hospitals.

Birmingham police said the injuries are not life-threatening.
