Popular comedian escorted off stage after bombing, blames alcohol, edibles, high altitude
Nick Swardson blames alcohol, edibles and high altitude for his bizarre comedy set which results in boos from the audience and the comedian being escorted off the stage.
The Reno 911 star and frequent Adam Sandler co-star took to social media to explain what led to his comedy set being cut short at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colo., on Sunday.
“Just casually woke up on TMZ,” Swardson posted on “X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Travel tip: don’t drink and take edibles in high altitude. F—ing brain diarrhea. I’ll make it up to you Beaver Creek!”
Video of Swardson’s set went viral and showed confused audience members laughing at the comedian’s inability to get through a joke. In addition, the audience began shouting back at Swardson before boos rained down on him.
“Do you want me to finish this, or no?” Swardson asked the crowd.
The overwhelming response was, “No.”
By the end of the set, his spotlight has been turned off before his mic was cut and he was escorted off the stage.
A rep for the venue took to the stage to announce the show ended early “in the best interest of those who bought tickets” and that they’d be “processing refunds.”
