Alabama troopers looking for driver of car who hit and killed a Madison County man

A Madison County man was killed early Saturday in a hit and run crash as he was walking along a highway, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian happened at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release from ALEA troopers.

The pedestrian, Willard A. Mann, 38, of Hazel Green was fatally injured when he was struck by a white Ford Taurus along U.S. 231 near Patterson Lane, approximately five miles north of Huntsville, according to the press release. Mann was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford Taurus left the scene of the crash and the driver is currently unknown.

Nothing further information is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
