1 dead after early morning shooting in Mobile
Police in south Alabama are currently investigating the shooting death of a man they initially believed was just a medical incident.
The incident began around 7 a.m. Saturday, when officials received a call to Moody’s Motel on Highway 45 and St. Stephens Road, according to the Prichard Police Department.
According to officials, when they were called out, they believed it was for a medical call, but upon further investigation they determined that an individual had been shot and killed.
That individual was identified as 46-year-old Adrian Mitchell.
Mitchell was allegedly shot multiple times at the motel before he fled on foot and later collapsed on O’Neal Street in Prichard.
Loved ones took to social media to express their heartbreak and disbelief over Mitchell’s death.
“I’m really going to miss you Cuz,” wrote Defendley Hannon on Facebook. “R.I.P!!!!!”
Detectives are currently investigating the death and looking for other potential witnesses and potential suspects.
