Taking a jab at Wendy’s, Burger King offers free Whoppers
News about Wendy’s possibly testing out “surge pricing” had the internet in a tizzy earlier this week.
The fast food chain has since walked back the statements made by its CEO Kirk Tanner earlier this month, saying it had no plans to adjust menu prices throughout the day based on demand, but not before some fast food chains issued some cheeky responses of their own.
On Instagram, Chili’s offered 100 customers a free meal if they posted comments about why Chili’s is better than fast food. Also, Burger King is offering customers a free Whopper or Impossible Whopper with a purchase of $3 or more now through Friday, March 1 when customers place orders through the the BK app.
In a statement, the fast food chain took a stab at Wendy’s
“Surge pricing? Well, that’s new. Good thing the only thing surging at BK is our flame!” reports USA TODAY.
