NFL Combine participant reveals he doesn’t believe in space, other planets in bizarre moment

Tyler Owens’ speed isn’t the only thing that is turning heads at this week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

The Texas Tech safety, who predicts he will run in the 4.2 range for the 40-yard dash, made it known he doesn’t believe in space or other planets. He is also open to flat-earth theories that he believes are “interesting” and have “valid points.”

“Nah, I don’t believe in space,” he told reporters at the Combine. “Like, I’m very religious, so I think we’re on our own right now. I don’t think there’s other planets and stuff like that. I don’t know. I used to believe in the heliocentric thing, we revolve around the sun. …

And I started seeing flat Earth stuff. And I was like, ‘That’s kind of interesting.’ And they start bringing up valid points. So I don’t know. It could be real, couldn’t be.”

Owens, who had 30 tackles last year for Texas Tech, spent two seasons in Lubbock after transferring from Texas.
